Hadrian's Wall & Corbridge
£159 p.p. (Based on two people)
8 hours

The most famous frontier of the Roman Empire, Hadrian's Wall, traverses some of the most dramatic and beautiful landscapes in the country. Built on the order of Emperor Hadrian in the 2nd century, it spans 73 miles across northern Britain. On this tour you will explore some of the highlights of this incredible UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You will visit the outdoor fort and indoor museum at Vindolanda, which provides a fascinating profile of Roman life before and after the building of Hadrian's Wall.
Housesteads Roman Fort is the most complete example of a Roman fort in Britain. After a tour around the fort you will have the opportunity to walk some of Hadrian's Wall itself and soak in some incredible landscapes. If hiking is not for you, simply relax in the café and enjoy the views.
In the afternoon, we will drive to the picturesque village of Corbridge where you can take a late lunch. You'll take a short tour of the village and then have some free time to explore the independent shops, cafés and riverside. A visit to the famous Grants Bakery is a must!
The tour can be customised to suit your preferences; whether it be more hiking, more museums and forts or different locations along the way. Simply get in touch and let me know what you want from your trip.
